the album was pretty good as i said had a dead prez feel on it but everyone is pretty much right the beats and the washed out producers that made hold the album back a lil

ok I can agree with that with no agrument so wat about GZA's Pro Tools..?

Yea the album had Rza's brilliant fingers behind the keyboards and GZA's intelligent mind on the paper but...were was his voice.....his lacking enthusiasm for his lyrics possibly held the album back from being a classic too

True people who are more older have a more acute taste for Hip Hop classics

If the album has to have

I personally think 2 Pac's Me Against the World and The Notorious B.I.G.'s Ready to Die are Hip Hop Classics because without Pacs Me Against the World, there would be no rappers with the fuck life attitude and paranoia of Death, and as we all know there's alot of rappers with that kind of mindset

see, but i feel that an album that had a lot of impact but wouldn't have been a classic without that impact shouldn't be called a classic, you feel me? if the music is meh, why would it be a classic? if that was the case, "Tha Carter III" would be classic since it sold platinum in a time when that was considered impossible. fuck that shit! "Tha Carter III" sucked regardless of how much i hate Wayne.

I guarantee most copies of that album would have been bought by the record label to help publicize it, most labels do that, thats how they predicted it would sell so much before it even hit the shelves

also a lot of those sales probably came from cell phones, thats what they market shit for now, that goes for most genre's of music. Thats why so many songs on the radio have these simple yet catchy tunes because they've been made for cell phones because thats how they still make money.

either way, an albums impact has nothing to do with whether or not it is a classic. it could be a shitty ass album that influenced a bunch of fake fucks to like hip hop, hence having a lot of influence, but does that make it hip hop? hell no!

Well thank you menace smile

i agree with everyone and also an album that you can hear over and over without getting tired of it even 10 to 20 years later when yu hear it, its like the first time again.. you just feel it in your mind, body, soul, spirit..a hit or album that everyone will remember and talk about forever is a classic to me. kinds of like james browns music and barry white or nina samone to me are classics.. if it reaches your soul its a classic in my eyes.
