Yeah, I'm well aware of that, but don't penalize the people that live here for a mistake our government is making, feel me? Or at least make them pay taxes.

the money your paying to immigrants is tiny in comparison whit the money your supplying to the war machine that brings this immigrants to your country is a roundabout if tax money stops going into the war machine thene the tax money going to immigrants wouldn't even be noticed ;) i don't know if giving immigrants money must be an issue in a country that spends 80% of the publics money into war and creating weapons

On topic......punchlines, i prefer to hear them from comedians.

Off topic,Eboyd

Are world citizenship and metropolitanism the same?

Certainly world citizenship may become a reality as societies and powerbases gravitiate to the further engenderment of globalization.

Though within a world focused on capitalist free market economies for metropolitism and world citizenship to emerge requires the decimation of and or centralization of nation states and their governments elected or otherwise.

That would require an event or events of globally seismic proportions, should it occur outside the frame work of global economies at present in which it would be hard to believe that the infrastructures that enable it could remain, or a prolonged period of relative stability and continuity of present systems for true metro politism to occur with its networks of alpha beta and gamma cities in an economically organic fashion.

The main problem for me with metropolitanism as it stands, is its destuction of traditional family structure and decimation of indigeonous culture and identity.
Both India and China are excellent examples of this.
At present it is the key tool in the "Hanification" of China.
Destroying the rich heritage of agrarian socities in favour of Metrocentric cultures (in the PRC) add Global to Metrocentric for Indias case, in which a Amerocentric homogenized global focus alienates young from old is accessible mainly to the priviledged classes, widens the chasm between the rich and poor subverting tradition links to family (particularization of universalism).
The abandonment of the elderly is a growing problem in Indian society whereby employment pressures of the aspirational lower middle classes via unsociable working practices required to facilitate the demands of the transnational producer service sectors have;
a)felt unable to fufill family obligations to work pressures
b)feel that having elevated themselves within society feel it is simply beneath them to pander to demanding and unreasonable parents.

This is a new phenomenon in India and seldom occurd with in the auspices of it's unjust caste system.

The growing divide between the fast and slow world holds consequences for all.

Menace you got anything on this?

PEACE!!!!!

Hmmm... I though metropolitanism was simply the name of the philosophy behind world citizenship. I'm all for world citizenship given it will solve many of the problems we face today, but from how you describe it (given the name "metropolitanism" your description makes sense) I am not supportive of metropolitanism.

i agree whit YANHAP1 i don't know how world citizenship or metropolitanism can work in a competitive capitalist world plus world citizenship is impossible under the current circumstances even a federal system won't stop world centralization and the loss of autonomy and self governing under a capitalist system we can't reach this metropolitanism or we can but the effects will be very Orwellian if yaal know what i mean . The best way to achieve a metropolitanism is to adopt anarchist economic models and anarchist ways of organization and I'm not saying this because i am an anarchist but anarchist economic models and ways organizations are foolproof against centralization in metropolitanism.
