What began this thread:

Religious folks need to give up.

We all know that each of our end is near; the question is do we accept the end of our living existence, or do we accept our existence as dead men...

The Bible = all a falsity that protects itself with it's own ignorance

I agree man, but in its teachings, not in its dates and records for the most part.

Quote (8Diagrams)
What the fuck are you doing? Only Christians use defensive arguements. Fuck are you thinking, man

i dont get you here man, you cant deny all of this evidence and expect me to agree cos its anti christian. jesus existed, the evidence is too much to ignore, its like ignoring evolution or the fact that the earth is older then 6000 years old

ignoring evolution or ignoring the fact that the earth is older then 6000 - 8000 years, which is the age you get if you trace the family tree in the bible back to adam

you cant ignore all this evidence for jesus man its just dumb

8Diagrams,
I get what you're saying man, just take it easy. There is room for what your saying, it is reasonable, it just isn't justified in its conclusion. ill, is justified in his conclusion because he supports his view with that which is known as credible evidence. You're using logic here 8. Supporting your view with logic IS reasonable, but almost never justified, because there is no material evidence upon which to secure a crystalline conclusion. ill's understanding is greater because he is applying something (evidence) to the situation to reveal the possible (most likely) truth, as opposed to just using logic to construct a claim.

It's hard to explain why your logic doesn't work here. There is a lot of room for logic, it just isn't used correctly here in this situation. Logic is a good way to go when it comes to utilizing it to punch wholes and reveal errors in the baseless practices of foundational beliefs. It's good for many other things as well, but best for the preceding statement. You have to be careful when you use this logic 8, because it doesn't always apply well.

For example, logic works well in battling religion because religion doesn't use credible evidence to support it's claims. On the other hand, ill is supporting the viewpoint that IS using credible evidence, therefore logic is voided. Logic is a good tool when no evidence is present.

Luckily for non-believers, we have evidence + logic + science + many other devices. So religion is fucked!!! aha.

What evidence? There's no written records of Jesus's existence so how am I supposed to be certain that he did, in fact, exist?

are you dumb or you are ignoring my comments ?? Jesus as an historical figure existed and there is a shit load of written evidence of Jesus from the Ancient Romans because Israel was a Roman occupied country so they chronicled everything that happened there plus he is chronicled by the Ancient Greeks too check the records of the secular Roman historian that lived in the Jesus period named Titus Flavius Josephus or the Roman historian and philosopher Pliny the Younger and i can give you many names if you check their records Jesus is nothing but a Jewish rebel like most Jews in that period that wouldn't accept Roman rule in fact Titus himself was appointed by the Roman emperor to start a smear campaign against the Jewish resistance in fact if you read the roman texts that many Christians ignore now days the plan was to create a reason to squash the Jewish resistance in Israel so Jesus among some other Jewish resistance leaders where accused of crazy shit

you are still young and don't know what you're saying

Quote (Furious_Pryme)

Unless i see scientific evidence i refuse to believe anything from a book

you are mistaken, the Bible is not one book. it was written by several people throughout several centuries who never knew each other, yet preached the same thing because they were divinely led by God. not to mention these writings contain historical fact...they were real people. they said and did definite things.

here's an example:

Luke 3:1-6
Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea, Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip tetrarch of Iturea and the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene, while Annas and Caiaphas were high priests, the word of God came to John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. And he went into all the region around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins, as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, saying:

“ The voice of one crying in the wilderness:

‘ Prepare the way of the LORD;
Make His paths straight.
5 Every valley shall be filled
And every mountain and hill brought low;
The crooked places shall be made straight
And the rough ways smooth;
6 And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.’”

Sodr do you understand the logical errors in the God theory?
To save on typing here are some well explained simple ones to start,

first of all, you say here's some logical errors in the "god theory" and the proof you give is a person asking QUESTIONS?? that haven't been ANSWERED!?!?!?

if you meant to direct them at me (which i doubt you did), here's my attempt

QUESTION #1: excuse me? Christians love God more than everyone on this earth combined? if someone were against God, they're not my loved ones! this is perfectly reasonable. God loves us more than we can love anyone, so why would we love people who are against the one who loves me the most, more than they will ever love me? they send themselves to hell, not God, and if it's their decision, then yes it is sad, but that's what they chose. read the parable of the wise and foolish virgins. focus on your path first.

QUESTION #2: she claims God isn't all knowing because He has to double check things, and gives one example from the Bible .........honestly i havent heard that story, but it seems like nothing as its not popular........and im sorry, but I'm defending the God of the Bible not the quran.

QUESTION #3: adam and eve didn't listen to God. that very thought of disobeying Him was plausible and God WARNED them anyways...He specifically says if you eat of it, you will die.....He doesn't try to trap people by their mistakes and send them off to hell.....God made us so that we can choose Him or not, otherwise, it's just forced love.

QUESTION #4: this is a good one.....and to be honest i dont know (I dont know). but this doesn't mean anything. God is merciful and probably judges ONLY the people who never heard of Him according to their deeds, who knows...but if they go to hell, then so be it. God is --->>JUST<<---...He knows more than our finite minds, and ill try to justify it: around the time of Noah, EVERYONE was religious, so that means that there had to have been someone who rebelled against God and started their own "canabalistic tribe" or whatever and damned his children and so on

QUESTION #5: i agree that no finite crime should have an infinite punishment.....however, the slightest degree of a crime against GOD (who btw is INFINITE) deserves the most tormenting punishment. but what's the big deal???? He loves us and sacrificed Himself for our sake...He doesn't deserve it, but it was out of his LOVE...so....why not follow Him? here's the bottom line. we have souls...when we die, these souls go on forever. they have two destinies. you choose which one. yes you have finite crimes, but you can get away with it because of God's selfless sacrifice who did it for you and everyone.

NOW....i-guy, please still do tell me what major problems are there in the God "theory"....and i don't expect a blonde teen explaining it to me

========================================================
And onto 8-diag.

you are drifting off from where we left a few pages ago! (pg. 27)

you said:

Quote (8Diagrams)
Unless it's backed up by scientific or emperical evidence, there is no waying for certain that you are correct.

when i said:

Quote (sodr2)
Before Jesus, there were prophets who foretold His coming, this is a FACT, we have these records that date before His time. ok there are literally hundreds, just look at this site
http://www.godandscience.org/apologetics/prophchr.html
the ONLY explanation you have is that CHRISTIANS went out of their way and wrote a fake account of a man named Jesus who fulfilled all of these
why do people still refuse to listen? the Bible says there are only wise and foolish people living on this earth....you have people like 8diag and king who are aggressive and insult me SIMPLY because i believe in the literal truth of the Bible (taken in correct context)...what is that?? thats only getting us no where

THEN i went onto answer you and still didn't get a response:

Quote (sodr2)
there is something called carbon dating

it is a FACT that the old testament existed before Jesus Christ (who in FACT did exist) and ask *anyone*, they will agree

well?

I'm not interested in what you have to say, my opinion stays where it is.

so you are ignorant enough to deny historical evidence ?? well start denying historical figures like Alexander too man no diss to Americans in general but some of you are so suborn you don't even admit when people have evidence like in the Iraq War the whole world said Iraq has no WMD we have evidence they don't have but the US government still said they have until last year after they fucked the country they admitted they didn't LOL

Now I should rephrase it as the "Bible Theory." The God Theory is actually quite plausible.

There are dozens of logical problems in the bible. First of all, all the ridiculous claims of impossible occurrences.

For example, their isn't enough water in the world for the great flood to have occurred.

Eve coming from a rib?

Tower of Babel?

Noah's Arch?

The sea parting for Moses?

...just to name a few

And by the way, I don't think you understood the questions in the video very well.

We all know that each of our end is near; the question is do we accept the end of our living existence, or do we accept our existence as dead men...

Tower of Babel?

that could exist because we all know the Jews were slaves in Sumeria and after they escaped from there they started their own religion that's why we see shocking similarities between Ancient Sumerian mythology and Ancient Hebrew mythology
