While on the streets of Oakland, Shakur drifted into the gang life, accumulating a criminal record with eight arrests by the beginning of his twenties.

I say he was a very intelligent an intellectual turned thug, and continued to do this until his death in some cases holding both titles.

Another solid post backed with factual evidence. That's wassup.

To add support to the validity of your post, 2Pac also confirmed that he began immersed in the street life when he first came to Oakland.

Quote (2Pac)
Coming out of New York I always learned about the flavor and different shit like that. Not to diss New York -- I learned a lot. But I never knew the Game. I never learned the Game. And when I went to Baltimore I didn't learn the Game; Nobody ever took the time to show me the Game. When I got to Oakland that's where I learned the Game.

For those that don't know, "the Game" is the drug game, as well as all the aspects of street life that are involved in that lifestyle. The hood politics, the police, gang members, weight pushers, and the like. Pac explained that he learned a lot of things on the East Coast, but never learned the Game. 2Pac at this specific time in his life was going through a lot of problems. He left school, his mother became addicted to crack, which left his family utterly broke. Time can change a man. Obstacles in one's life can change a man.

2Pac was a thug in every sense of the word.

Was Tupac a thug?

Who gives a fuck?

Why is it given any importance?

If he was a thug he's just another dead one.

If he wasn't, he's dead through association to thugs.

So if his intelligence manifest in a creative field it didn't cross over to subsequent life choices.

He leaves two legacies... the creative expressions that many admire....and a corpse.

Personally i care for niether

lol i actually don't care either, i was just bored and added my 2 cents

However they, Wayne especially, grew up rich and were never truly "thugs" and I think we can all agree on this.

My advice to you -- Stay a Watcher LOL

That's not necessarily such a bad thing.. Anyway I might stop being a Watcher and post something more productive in a minute.

looks like he said that because he thought your comment calling him queer was hypocritical.

lease stop defending 2pac, its getting more hilarious and retarded each comment. 2pac, wasnt a thug, he was a fucking intelligent man and a studio gangsta. Just leave at that.

Both sides in this argument were actually defending Tupac in their own way; One felt that he didn't deserve to be called a 'thug' or a 'hoodlum' because he was much more than that and the other thought he deserved to be called what he wanted to be called. Either way I don't think he deserves to be called a studio gangsta. A studio gangsta is not somebody who upon hearing about a gang member nearby who recently robbed one of the Death Row people rushes him in the lobby, beats him down and runs out.

I don't really care to write an essay about this or even argue about this at all, everyone has the right to perceive what he was as they wish.

If I would've been granted that decency of respect in the first place, this thread wouldn't have reached damn near six pages.

So far, in this thread, you have contributed nothing of substance. You claimed 2Pac couldn't be a thug because he was an intelligent human being. That is incorrect. Thugs can, in fact, be intelligent. So that's one claim I disproved.

Secondly, you claimed 2Pac was a studio gangsta. I referred you to the 1993 shooting of two Atlanta Police officers, assault charges on the Hughes brothers, felony weapons charges, and so forth. Studio gangstas don't have criminal records. They don't do dirt. Hence the word, "studio". Get it?

Instead of telling me how funny I am, why don't you form an opinion of your own and back it up with substantial evidence. Scared you might be disproven as well? I think so. ;)

Didn't gucci mane get in trouble for attempted murder or something?
Didn't TI go to jail for automatic weapons with surpressors?

I never said either of those two emcees were studio gangstas. If I did, you're more than welcome to produce the quotes where I state that.
