Sorry to be so late and retroactive on this, but I went to go do a ridiculously hardcore workout with my marine buddy and I'm noticing more and more that Meth takes EVERYTHING I say out of context, so I am going to "debunk" his rebuttle if you will:
U kno all those guys who produced the album but yet u say the production is awful
Yeah, you know who Soulja Boy is, right? You also know of some lesser-known wack artists, do you not? Does that mean you like them just because you know who they are? Is there something wrong with me being knowledgeable about producers?
But it sounds like ur defending them of their honor
The only people I'm coming close to "defending their honor" are Kanye, Will-I-Am, Timbo, Pharrell, Stic Man and Mark Ronson. The first 4 of those were people I brought up who had NOTHING to do with the actual album. The others, Ronson and Stic Man, I even said made two of the better beats on the album (Fried Chicken and Sly Fox, respectively) in spite of the fact that Ronson is a label choice producer. The rest -- Game, Cool & Dre, and Polow Da Don -- suck and showed on this album that they sucked too.
If the beat sucked, the producer obviously sucks right?
obviously you've never heard the saying "even a broken clock works twice a day." PDD has even had his good days with beats like the one he did for Young Buck (idk the name). That works vice versa as well. For example, Premo made that god awful beat for 50 Cent. He's made plenty of others too.
u prejudge albums by who produced them? not a smart way of judging an album So if DJ Premier produced a whole album for Plies, u would say that album is gonna be dope?!
Obviously you don't understand the difference between judging and PRE-judging. When I say I am PRE-judging something I am saying I am judging how many chances I will give it or if it is even worth a listen to begin with. Sometimes albums grow on you and that often depends on production. For example, usually when I listen to Prem I either like the track/album immediately or not at all (with the exception of his slightly more conceptual works like "SRITE" by Jeru) but when I listen to DOOM's production, it takes me a few listens to truly feel it. Another example would be an artist I dislike. I HATE Wayne, but he had an arsenal of producers on C3 (who unfortunately didn't deliver, which I kind of expected because it was with Wayne) so because of that I decided to give it a chance.
Hopefully you understand better now.
