Hold up, your taking that song out of context like the Rakim verse you took out of context.
im not talking about the queens but (what) the bitches
not the sisters, but (what) the bitches
not the young ladies, but (what) the bitches
the bitches, the bitches

now a queens a queen and a stunt is a stunt
you can tell whos who by the things they want
most chicks want minks, diamonds, a benz
spend up all your ends probably fuck your friends

high post attitudes real rude with fat asses
think that the pussy is made out of gold
try to control you by slidin up and down on the wood
they be givin up sex for goods

dealin with bitches is the same old song
they only want you till someone richer comes along
dont get me wrong strong black women
i know whos who total respect im givin

recognise whats real and not material
or burn in hell chasin polo and guess dumb bitches

So are they. Tupac made songs like Brenda's Got a Baby, Keep Ya Head Up and Dear Mama but he's still got songs talking about the bitches and he has clarified this as well as Jeru did in interviews he had. I said awhile ago and I hate having to repeat myself as this is probably the 4th time by now (if some mod hadn't screwed this thread up you would have seen the post), I'm not trying to prove that Rakim, Jeru the Damaja, KRS One or anybody was a gangsta rapper. All I'm saying is that taking one song out of Tupac's discography and saying that he's a gangsta rapper like that's all he's about is wrong and you should know better than that. Tupac made some of the greatest Hip Hop tracks of all time and as far as I'm concerned, calling him a 'Gangsta Rapper' is belittling to the things he did for Hip Hop. I heard Eboyd say as a reply to something that they were calling him a 'Gangsta Rapper' "amongst other things", well nobody mentioned a single other thing and Pensmoke said "Oh, well I can't listen to Tupac because he said this and this on this one record right here".

Chances are someone will just split the thread again and lead to more of your emotional posts.

you are truly an egomaniac, possibly even a sociopath, aren't you?

where the quote

Quote (Pensmoke)
"People got mad when I said I never liked Biggie or Tupac's music and said it was rap not Hip Hop.

People said: "You have no idea what Hip Hop is".

I said: "Hip Hop is not about glorifying what's going on in the hood like BIG and Pac did. It is about solutions.."

I was paraphrasing it a bit and probably could have worded it better but that sentence is ridiculous to me. He goes on to mention that "Hey, Biggie said this here and Tupac said this here and it was about bitches, money and what not and Biggie said this and that" and that's why he didn't like Biggie and Tupac. So what I drew from that was that he didn't like Tupac because of some things he said somewhere and therefore all of Tupac's music can't be considered Hip Hop?

money-no mater what fucking job you do be it a doctor all the way down to a motherfucking little league football ref what motivates you is money so saying that rappers that do it for the money are bad is fucking retarded because tons of those old school rappers came in to get some money..he quotes rakim and big daddy kane but yet they all have songs about bitches and money

both pac and big had songs about uplifting the people and they probably uplifted more people then any of the other rappers he named even rakim and kane(and i love kane to death but its true)

this video is fucking stupid i don't care if he was the motherfucking inventor of hip hop none of this should be said every genre of music has people talking about different things to voodoo dolls to girls on palm beach but hip hop has to be all about uplifting people is fucking dumb hip hop is music which means music is art which also means you can do whatever the fuck you want with your talent and the art your in.this shit is bullshit he probably gonna come in here and tell us how he was roaming with the dinosaurs and all this bullshit that is not relevant to what we're talking about

i'm not saying 2pac and biggie weren't emcee's coz personally i think they were but there's a difference between:

"Playin them hoes like manure
First let my nigga fuck and then I fuck that's how we do it" (didn't he go to jail for that?)

and....

is this what you call Rakim rapping about bitches?

1) You believe there are such things as sub-genres and hybrids in hip hop
2) I don't believe there are such things as sub-genres and hybrids in hip hop

i have never before seen or heard someone say there ISN'T sub-genre's in hip hop, i think everyone else on this entire site believes there are sub-genres.

what about G-Funk do you think there's a such sub-genre as G-Funk? If there is no such thing as Gangsta Rap how come Ice-T proudly claims to be the first ever gangsta rapper and to have made the first ever gangsta rap song

exactly. that's why i don't take this dude ALCATRAZ seriously anymore. dude needs to ask his proctologist to help him get his head out of the clouds (among other places that his proctologist is a bit more familiar with).

You have now.

That's fine. Do you guys make the rules? Exactly. Opinions are OK. I have no problem with them.

Quote (EmSeeD)

I don't necessarily believe you need to be labeled G-Funk to use synths and deep bass. If Warren G wants to call his music G-Funk, than more power to him. That's his music, he can call it what he wants.

Because Ice T has his own views. Like I said, I have no problem with YOU believing there are sub-genres in rap, but I respectfully choose to stay away from labels to categorize an artist. If I like your raps, then I like your raps.

ok, then nah, fuck all that shit. in my opinion this shit isn't called hip hop. it's called pink, fuzzy elephant. pink, fuzzy elephant is my favorite genre of music and fuck hip hop because hip hop is is what you would call country music. Garth Brooks sucks and he's hip hop. oh, and scat sex is the fifth element of pink, fuzzy elephant culture. beatspeaking (what you would call emceeing/rapping), wicky-wicky (DJing), dancefuck (b-boying), scribblz (graf writing), and scat sex (literally, scat sex, aka people having sex and shitting on each other) are the five elements.

you may disagree, but that's my opinion so it's all good.
